In the 80's The Dead played 37 states, District of Columbia, and 9 foreign countries. California led the way with 246 shows with New York in at a distant 2nd with only 70 shows. The Grateful Dead movie was released in 1977 and is a documentary of the groups' Winterland shows. Bruce Hornsby was in a Dead cover band at one point only to become an actual member of The Grateful Dead! We miss you Jerry!
