Eric Clapton was in one of the most popular bands of the 60's, Cream. Eric redid "Layla" at MTV's Unplugged which was a beautiful acoustic version making it a HIT all over again. Clapton's nickname is "Slowhand" because he plays the guitar so hard he would break the strings and the crowd would clap slowly as Eric replaced them.
